JULY 4, 2016 Relatively Quiet Celebration

Glen has a theory:  the better the economy, the more fireworks are exploded.

In that case, the economy is great!

There are fireworks going off all around us, even in the RV park (surprisingly).  We didn't go downtown to watch the big city display.

Jeff and Marcella came over.  They are parked next to us!  We visited, played a game of Mexican dominoes, and enjoyed fresh watermelon.

Yesterday Zade enjoyed his official birthday party at the covered pool at Southeast Missouri University.  He celebrated with St. Louis Cardinals' cupcakes.

I mentioned previously that Glen had a project.  I wanted to replace the combo convection/microwave over that is original in the motor home.  We found just what we wanted as a replacement at Lowe's.

Today Glen removed the original; no small feat.  He found the burned out light fixture.  He went to Lowe's to purchase the oven, and discovered the door opening would not fit in the opening the motor home.  No new replacement.

Of course this particular model is no long manufactured.  I am going to call Newmar tomorrow to discuss what might be used for replacement.

Marcella is working on the route for the Hickey Family Caravan that will begin on July 18.  We appreciate the fact that she is a planner/organizer!  The general route will be South Dakota, North Dakota, Montana, Idaho, to the western coast of Washington, south along Oregon, and into California!

We are hoping for lower temperatures and humidity to go along with the scenic views!
