It was a day trip into San Francisco! There was lots of walking!
Methods of transportation:
ferry; bus, cable car, bicycle with rickshaw; and feet!
At nine this morning we drove a mile to the parking lot for the Larkspur Ferry. The 1500-space parking lot was full! Glen dropped Gary, Evelyn, and me off at the ferry marina, came back to the RV park, and walked to the marina.
We rode the 30-minute ferry to the port of San Francisco terminal.
Our ferry looked like this.
On the ride this famous location was seen:
San Quentin State Prison |
The exercise yard was filled with waving inmates. |
The exercise yard did not look very large! |
The Marin County end of the Golden Gate Bridge |
Bottom left: Port of SF; also SF skyline |
The infamous Alcatraz prison |
Buildings on Angel Island: the Ellis Island of the West Coast |
Inside the ferry terminal |
Welcome to Pier 39 |
In honor of our grandson Zade |
Sea Lions at Fisherman's Wharf |
Glen and Doug holding on for dear life on the outside step of the cable car |
