Glen still has an occasional hacking cough. He is trying a new Robitussen cough medicine and Mucinex DM.
Glen and Jeff went out in Jeff's boat on Thursday to fish. Glen reported "the fishing was great. The catching not so good. They didn't catch one fish.
Friday Jeff and Marcella fished and brought home 15. This trip Marcella didn't catch one! Marcella had a lesson in filleting a crappie. She learned quickly. Neither she nor I are fast but speed comes with experience.
Wednesday the four of us went to Laredo. Jeff and Marcella in their vehicle; and us in our vehicle. We went to the GMC dealer, leaving the truck for an oil change. We joined Jeff and Marcella in their vehicle and went to a "new" flea market in Laredo. There were at least 30 (former) storage type buildings with each stall filled with items for sale. The entire site was concreted--no dust or mud. There was a huge covered pavilion with tables and chairs to rest/listen to music.
Then...Jeff drove their vehicle to a Walmart to have the oil changed. Marcella, Glen and I went on to Sam's. When Jeff finished at Walmart he joined us at Sam's. At that point we separated our ways. We stopped at Lowe's. Jeff/Marcella bought tires at Sam's for their truck and waited while they were installed.
It was a busy day.
Here's a couple of pictures taken when Glen disposed of the crappie skeletons in the edge of the lake. A gang of pelicans really appreciated the easy pickings.
I think this is an immature green heron that wanted in on the easy pickings. |
It has been in the low 90's (temps) the past couple of days!
