May 23, 2017 Good-Byes and Baseball

Today was filled with mixed feelings!  We visited our dentist, Gary, and Pat, office manager this morning.

Not only have they been our dentist for 40 years, they have been our friends for that long.

When Trisha and Darin were his patients as children they never knew when he gave them a shot.  He told them to close their eyes and he "put the germs to sleep."

They are retiring; just five more work days!

We are extra happy for their retirement as they are moving to be close to their very special children and grandchildren.  They will enjoy every minute of being retired.

But....
of course we will have to break in a new dentist!!! LOL

Tonight Zade and team played baseball.  Zade is the pitcher for the team.  Tonight he pitched the complete game (four innings), no runs, no walks, one hit.  The pitch total was 58.  I was telling him how much fun it was to watch him play and how proud Poppy and I were of him.  He said "it makes me tired!"

The pitching mound is 75 feet from home base.  That is a LONG way to throw a ball accurately when you are a fourth grader.
Each batter is allowed six walks then take the base; or 3 strikes you are out.
