September 18, 2018 Tuesday Little things that turn into big things (Still at The Landing Point RV Park, Cape Girardeau MO)

June 2018, yes, that long ago, the ice maker in the refrigerator quit working.  The motorhome was taken to "Cape RV Sales and Service" for repairs.  After countless trips and phone calls to Cape RV, as well as a water valve being replaced, and the entire ice maker being replaced, we still do not have a working ice maker.

They are now in the process of "researching" the issue.  I have no hope that they are capable of repairing the ice maker.  Seems to me that "researching" should have been done a long time ago.

Two weeks ago Glen noticed water dripping from the hot water heater.  Obviously we do not want to start the repair process with Cape RV Sales and Service.  Yesterday he stopped at "McDowells RV Sales and Service" in Jackson, MO.  They are busy and the first week of October is the first available appointment.  Glen is now thinking about the situation.

On a happier note, the "new" house is now framed, roof decked, and house wrapped.  Progress.  Saturday evening we took a picnic meal to the house and and ate on the back porch.  FUN.

This past Sunday we watched Zade/team play two games of baseball.  It is almost painful to watch.  It definitely is a "character building" season.  Several of the players lack the basic throwing and catching skills.

Our neighbors, Jeff and Marcella (Glen's sister), will be moving this Sunday.  They will be going to Hendersonville TN for three months to work at an Amazon Distribution Center.

The weather is still very summer-like with temps and feel-like temps in the 90's.

Sunday, the 16th, we celebrated our 51st wedding anniversary.  How does time go by so quickly?  Really? married 51 years?  We can't be old enough to be married that long.  On the other hand, as the card that Glen gave says "remember the thrill of when we first started out?  Me, too.  That was only the beginning!"  Those 51 years have brought adventures, and loss, two children and grandchildren and love that deepens each day.  Today's love is much more than 51 years ago.  It is seasoned with commitment and choice and determination and celebration.
