Glen tells the story of visiting Hannibal when he was about 7.
His aunt and uncle, Bryan and Margie, lived in Hannibal. He isn't sure what they did in Hannibal. Uncle Bryan may have been a teacher.
Glen was excited to be in Hannibal and see where Huck and Tom lived.
He was able to visit the cave, see the white-washed fence, got a book with all the stories about Huck and Tom
Sometime later, months or a few years, Glen says he was told that Huck and Tom were just characters in a book, not real boys. He even argued with whomever told him they weren't real because he had seen the white-washed fence and the cave.
He thinks it was his older sister, Evelyn, that told him the devastating news that Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn weren't real boys.
