7/14/2014 First Half of the Day: Talkeetna Air Taxi Flight to Denali

Glen checked with Talkeetna Air Taxi at 8 a.m. as instructed, expecting to hear "no flight, the mountain is socked in!! Instead he heard: "It's a go! The mountain is clear."

He, Jim and Dee were at the airstrip in ten minutes, ready to get checked in.

 Company has overboots to keep feet dry when landing on the glacier.

THE mountain: Alaskan name: Mt Denali; Gov't name: Mt. McKinley

 Watching another plane from the glacial surface.

 Glen, Dee, and Jim.  They were at 6000' elevation.

 Lodging for the climbing school, at edge of glacier.

Of course there has to be snow angels: Dee and Jim.

Glen, Dee, and Jim all said the flight was "awesome, "outstanding", "the best."

The rest of the crew had been four years ago, and chose not to go this trip.
