July 2, 2014 Glaciers and Waterfalls (Bear Paw RV Park, Valdez, Alasla)

It was a relatively short driving day...only 254 miles from Tok to Valdez, Alaska.  Most of these miles are dotted with frost heaves, broken edges on the pavement, sections of packed dirt, but.....

The scenery is beautiful.

Here are different views of Worthington Glacier, 35 miles north of Valdez, AK.
This is Bridal Veil Falls 18 miles north of Valdez, Alaska.

Four of six travel mates were waiting for us at the Bear Paw RV Park in Valdez.  We are near Gary and Evelyn, and Jim and Dee.  Jeff and Marcella spent the past two days at Kennicott Copper Mine hiking.  They will join us tomorrow.

We will be here for the next four days.  A decision at that time will be made about staying longer or moving on.

There are several things to see and explore.  The Alaskan Pipeline ends here in Valdez.  There is a fish hatchery here.  Many hikes are in this area if one is so inclined to exert that much energy!  There is a wildlife cruise that we may enjoy in the next two days.

The forecast is sunshine Thursday and Friday; then rain for the next five days with temps 10-12 degrees cooler.
