July 20, 2016: Custer State Park, Needles Highway, and Mt. Rushmore

Two trucks: four couples--Glen and Gayla, Mildred and Doug plus Jeff and Marcella and Evelyn and Gary.

I know have explained before but to describe the family dynamics on this Family Caravan.

Three Sisters and A Brother!  Sisters: Evelyn +Gary; Marcella +Jeff; Mildred +Doug; and brother Glen + Gayla.

A picture is worth a 1000 words.  We spent the day touring the Custer State Park, driving the Needles Highway, and seeing Mt. Rushmore.

We saw several hundred bison/buffalo.

Note the bloody eye and shoulder.  Fighting with the big boys.

Pronghorn

Coloring is terrific camoflauge.

"Wild" burros:  original herd was used to haul visitors to the top of Mt. Harney (tallest peak in SD).  When the rides ended the burros were turned loose in the park.

"DO NOT FEED THE ANIMALS!"--some people can't read

One more narrow, one-way tunnel on Needles Highway.

It was a glorious hot day; thankfully we were mostly riding.  High today was 103 degrees.  Whew!
