August 13, 2016: A Day of Scenery

The day started with a blip for Doug and Mildred.  They are brand new RV-ers, with a brand new Ford pick up and a brand new Jayco fifth wheel.

Doug filled the truck with diesel this morning here in Sequiam, and headed to Port Angeles, 14 miles away.  The truck barely made it there; it was missing and had no power.  He immediately pulled into the Ford dealer.  He was told the service department could look at it today.

By then we were at a Visitor's Center of Olympic National Park.  The Ford dealership drove them there.  They rode with us for the rest of the day.

At the end of the day, Ford service did look at the truck, but made no diagnosis.  They will have the "experienced" diesel mechanic look at it Monday.  It may be as simple as a bad sensor; or it could be as bad as "bad" diesel which means replacing the motor.

Doug and Mildred now have a rental car; and obviously will stay here until the truck is repaired.

The rest of us are leaving mid day tomorrow for the next stop at Forks, Washington.

Here are a few pictures of the beautiful secenery of today's drive.

The debris a few yrds from shore is sea kelp.

The water is 48 degrees.  Would you be swimming?

These are all taken at Salt Creek Recreation Area, a county park, just west of Port Angeles, WA.
