August 28, 2017 Monday Arriving at YNP (Bridge Bay Campground)

It was a beautiful scenic drive from Riverton Wy to YNP.  The countryside was reminiscent of the Badlands and the Painted Desert with a beautiful river thrown in.

We came through an area in a national forest that obviously was used for snow-mobileing in the winter.  There were many parking lots and trails.

Once we reached YNP, the south gate, it was another 90 minutes to Bridge Bay Campground.  Brother in law Jeff is a paid employee at the check-in booth.  There is road construction being done and there were several minutes of waiting.

Once we were checked in (by Jeff) and parked on our site we were greeted by Marcella.

Doug and Mildred (Glen's youngest sister) arrived an hour later.

Count 'em...how many Hickeys are here?  Evelyn (Gary), Glen (me Gayla), Marcella (Jeff), and Mildred (Doug).  Being missed are Myrna and Paul.

After dinner we drove to an area where wolves and grizzlies are being seen frequently.  We didn't see any wolves or bears, but did see a huge herd of elk, a bald eagle, and many Canadian geese.

The "first" bison seen in YNP.  He first strolled down the middle of the highway then veered into the trees.

A large herd of bison grazing along the Yellowstone River.

I have approximately 300 pictures from the visit to YNP.  I will edit closely,, preventing boredom on your part!
