Fed Ex Delivers

A neighbor shared a bag of broccoli with us.  I decided to make broccoli cheddar soup. There was enough broccoli to make a big batch.

Gary and Evelyn provided a smoke pork loin sandwich to go with the soup.  It was a great lunch.

We fixed a container of soup for Shirley who shared the broccoli with us, along with a sandwich.

Fed Ex arrived mid-morning with the new Directv receiver.  Speedy delivery.

We contacted an agent at Directv, and spent 57 minutes on the phone with her.  The receiver worked as soon as it was hooked up.  I really think the picture on the TV screen is better and brighter than with the "old" receiver.

What took so-o-o long was a change in programming.  We are using the same channel package that we have had from the very beginning, at least ten years.  This package included 671---Fox Midwest Sports which carries the St. Louis Cardinals, and Missouri Tigers.

After the nearly hour-long conversation with the first agent, and a second conversation with a second agent, we learned/were told that to receive 671 we would have to buy a sports package of 30+ channels.  No more "grandfathering"  channel 671 in to the program bundle.

We 'bit the bullet' and ordered the new package.  We did think long and hard about the dollars versus the baseball and basketball we would miss.

Weather: bright sunshine with fluffy and puffy white clouds, temps: 49/80 for low and high.
