August 4, 2014 Around Town (Haines) (several pictures)

When you have to go, you gotta go!
It has been a great day.  We did some driving around, enjoying the scenery
This pink salmon was caught and released at Chilkoot State Park..

A cruise ship comes into Haines once a week.  Obviously on a Monday this week.
Glen, Jim, and Dee at Chilkat State Park.
 Gayla and Glen.
 Miniature/dwarf dogwood heavy with berries...about 4" tall.
This is how a totem pole starts.  20' tall, 800-year old yellow cedar.

 This is the artist/designer/carver.
Dungeness crabs before prep for dinner.
Jim (white shirt), Dee(red cap), and Glen (on right) helping with the prepping of Dungeness crabs.
The finished product, ready for dinner.
A young fisherman was catching fish next to the crab-cleaning station.  This is a Dolly varden--in the trout family.
