August 10, 2016 Travel Day (Rainbow's End RV Park, Sequim, WA)

The stay at the Washington State Fair, Puyallup WA came to end this morning when we departed about 9:30 a.m.

We traveled south on I-5 for a few miles then merged onto Highway 101, the scenic route to Sequim, WA.  Sequim is known as the "lavender capitol of the US".  We skirted the shores of Hood Canal and The Strait of Juan de Fuca most of the way.

We are across the Strait of Juan de Fuca from Victoria, Vancouver Canada.

The weather has been partly cloudy with highs in the upper 60's.  We hesitate to share these numbers with you under the "heat dome" and enduring the "severe heat advisories".

I know family members are preparing for the beginning of school--as teachers and students.  Grandchildren are leaving for college, finishing some assigned summer reading; getting ready for third and fourth grades.

Trisha tells me that seventh grade where she teaches is bursting at the seam.  It is the largest seventh grade class in many years, and teachers are having to share class rooms.

There are a couple of projects that need to be finished while here in Sequim.  One is the installation of the new windshield wiper kit on the left side on the motor home.  The other is an air leak on an inside dual set of tires.

Hope your week is going well.
